Szilvia Flanek Consultant

Szilvia is a member of Oxera’s Analytics and Competition teams where she applies economics and advanced analytical tools, including econometric modelling and data science, to address complex client challenges. She has extensive experience in the preparation of expert reports for litigation, mergers, and market investigations. Her recent work includes advising on high-profile mergers, antitrust damages claims, and regulatory consultations for financial services. Szilvia is also engaged in pro bono projects that leverage data science for social impact.

Before joining Oxera, Szilvia earned a Master’s in Economics from the Central European University, specialising in applied econometrics and microeconomics.

professional experience

  • Conducted analysis on price incentives and market definition to support the ongoing clearance of a European food delivery company’s acquisition by a global investment group (2025–)

  • Assisted Nokia and Infinera in obtaining unconditional merger clearance from the European Commission and the UK Competition and Markets Authority at Phase 1 (2024)

  • Provided economic advice to a European truck manufacturer in the context of multiple damages claims following an Article 101 infringement ruling by the European Commission (2023–24)

  • Applied advanced machine-learning techniques including text analysis to evaluate applications and identify trends for a gender equality award as part of Oxera’s pro bono initiatives (2024)

  • Advised a global financial services provider on regulatory consultations and fee structures (2024)

  • Supported a global financial services provider in a UK litigation case concerning its fee structure (2023–24)
