Sebastian has more than 15 years of professional experience in leveraging data science, machine learning and AI to help clients achieve data-driven value creation and make informed strategic decisions. Through various consulting and executive leadership roles, Sebastian seamlessly combines deep technical expertise with a clear understanding of strategic issues and a results-oriented approach, making data and AI work for the business.  

Throughout his career, Sebastian has led and overseen hundreds of successful data-driven initiatives, sustainably increasing profits and de-risking high-stakes decisions. This has given him broad sector experience across manufacturing, biotech, pharmaceuticals, automotive, telecoms, technology, financial services, private equity, and consumer goods.  

Sebastian is also a highly regarded public speaker, regularly delivering keynotes on data and AI at corporate events (e.g. Mars, Unilever, Red Bull), prestigious universities (e.g. Wharton and Stanford), and renowned conferences (e.g. TED), showcasing his thought leadership in the field.

  • Developing predictive modelling for a German sports car manufacturer to increase their global options revenue by >10% (2018–23)

  • Developing a forecasting engine to accurately predict the weekly sales of all major drugstore chains in Germany across tens of thousands of retail locations (2017–20)

  • Adviser to the National Cancer Institute on building a cloud infrastructure for cancer genome analysis (2013–15)

  • Development of a novel data analytics approaches for the UK’s 100,000 Genomes Project (2014–25)

  • Managing data-driven optimisation and risk management for manufacturing 3.1bn doses of an mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccine (2020–22)
