Depiction of Using economics in competition cases

Using economics in competition cases

How can economics tools support me in competition cases?

For more than 20 years, our training course has helped participants gain the confidence to judge and rely on economic arguments and evidence put forward in a case. Previous attendees have included practitioners, in-house lawyers faced with an inquiry, and senior managers wishing to understand potential competition law risk.

You will come away with new skills that enable you to develop professionally and help your organisation to achieve its objectives. Your time at this course will be well rewarded through the relationships you’ll build, the level of understanding you’ll achieve, and the combination of skills you’ll develop.

Over two days, the course will cover a number of topics, including:

  • basic concepts of competition economics;
  • market definition;
  • assessing market power;
  • the economics of merger assessment;
  • the use of econometrics and other quantitative tools in competition cases;
  • abuse of dominance: exclusionary and exploitative conducts;
  • anticompetitive agreements and quantifying damages.

Is it right for me?

Regardless of your existing level of knowledge, this two-day course will develop your skills and abilities while enrichening your network.
