Jaime Pingarrón Senior Consultant

Jaime is a member of Oxera’s Competition team. He has over ten years’ experience in the application of economic analysis to competition cases, with a particular focus on antitrust damages and mergers.

Prior to joining Oxera, Jaime worked as a Senior Manager at KPMG, advising clients in cases of cartel, abuse of dominance and other economic and regulatory cases in a wide range of sectors such as banking, football TV rights, pharmaceuticals, telecoms, consumer goods, construction, and petrol stations. He has also worked in various merger cases in sectors such as retail distribution, cement and funerary services

  • Acted as an expert for Volvo Renault Trucks in the Spanish damages case arising from the European Commission Decision AT.39824 – Trucks (2017–) and for Stellantis España in the damages case arising from the CNMC Decision S/0482/13 Fabricantes de Automóviles (2022–)

  • Provided advice to a large TV and media company in an abuse of dominance case against the Spanish Football Federation (2023)

  • Advice to the Spanish Football Agents Association as an expert in the evaluation of the 2022 FIFA Football Agent Regulations report (2023)

  • Provided advice to a large insurance company in a self-evaluation of the competitive impact of information provided by insurance comparators (2022)

  • Provided advice to the Spanish Postal operator (Correos) in a case of abuse of a dominant position (2021)

  • Provided advice to a large Spanish insurance company, Santa Lucía, in a Phase II merger proceeding (2020–22)
