Today, Oxera announces that Michael Weekes and Dorian Beauchêne have been promoted to Principal.
- Dorian specialises in competition economics and impact assessment.
- Michael specialises in regulation and competition economics with an expert focus in digital, telecoms, media and technology (DTMT).
The promotions recognise their talents and achievements, and also expands Oxera’s leadership team in France and the UK; with Michael being based in London and Dorian being based in Paris.
Dorian joined Oxera in 2021 and advises clients in a wide range of industries including retail, telecoms, transport, consumer goods, healthcare, and media and digital. One of his academic papers was recently cited by the White House in a report about artificial intelligence, and his work has been assessed as ‘excellent’ in the Leader’s League Antitrust Litigation ranking.
Commenting on his promotion, Dorian said that in his new role he’ll ‘continue focusing on the growing market in France, particularly in the areas of Competition and Impact Assessment’. He went on to say that he’s ‘excited to take the next step at Oxera’.
Michael has worked at Oxera for over five years, and applies economic concepts to provide advice on the issues faced by private companies and public sector authorities in the telecoms sector. This includes advice on matters relating to the design of regulatory policy to promote investment, cost–benefit analyses, market reviews and litigation support for competition disputes and regulatory appeals.
Looking ahead to his new role, Michael said that he will focus on ‘delivering impactful work to a diverse group of telecoms and digital clients’, and that he’s ‘proud to be joining the leadership team at an exciting time for the telecoms sector as it faces big questions on competition, regulation and policy issues’.
Deborah Stump, Oxera Partner and Joint Chief Operating Officer, said ‘Both Michael and Dorian are fantastic additions to the senior team’ and she ‘looks forward to seeing the impact they’ll make in their new roles’.
