Hot off the press: The draft Article 102 guidelines by the European Commission – an economic perspective
On 4 September Oxera hosted a webinar to discuss the European Commission draft guidelines on Article 102.
During this webinar, we reviewed the guidelines from an economic perspective and discussed a number of questions, including:
- How do the draft guidelines reflect economic theories of anti-competitive foreclosure?
- Do they help distinguish anti-competitive conduct from legitimate competition?
- Will they support the European Commission’s objective of delivering a workable effects-based approach?
Speakers:
Main speaker: Lluís Saurí Romero, Acting Chief Economist, DG Competition
Discussants:
Massimo Motta, ICREA-Univ. Pompeu Fabra and Barcelona School of Economics, former Chief Economist of DG Competition
