To demonstrate its commitment to combatting modern slavery and human trafficking, under Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, Oxera is making this voluntary statement to show its commitment to ethical trading principles and to set out the steps it is taking to tackle modern slavery and human trafficking in its supply chain.
This statement sets out Oxera’s ongoing commitment as a responsible business to tackling modern slavery and human trafficking, and has been approved by Oxera’s Governing Board.
Oxera reviews its suppliers on a regular basis and has a commitment to working only with suppliers who share its core values. Oxera has put in place controls and regularly reviews them.
Oxera will not work with any supplier that has been found to have been knowingly involved in either human trafficking or modern slavery.
Oxera’s will ensure that all existing and potential suppliers are treated fairly and professionally, and that they work to the principles of ethical and sustainable procurement at all times.
Oxera’s recruitment process is fair and transparent. Oxera will communicate directly with candidates or only through approved recruiters who understand and agree to their obligations with regards to human trafficking or modern slavery. Oxera has robust procedures for vetting new employees, ensuring it can confirm their identities, and only pays directly into appropriate and verified bank accounts. No employee shall be paid less than the minimum wage as prescribed by the jurisdictions within which Oxera operates.
Oxera’s Governing Board has overall responsibility for ensuring that this statement complies with its legal and ethical obligations, and that all those under Oxera’s control comply with it.
Oxera will monitor the effectiveness and review the implementation of this Statement, regularly considering its suitability, adequacy and effectiveness. Oxera encourage anyone working for or under Oxera’s control to raise concerns about any issue or suspicion of modern slavery or human trafficking at the earliest possible stage. Anyone working under Oxera’s control can raise an issue with their line manager or HR, any Partner, or directly with Oxera’s Chief Operating Officers.
