Gianluca Cornago Analyst

Gianluca is part of Oxera’s Competition and Finance & Valuation teams, specialising in competition analysis and regulatory economics.

Gianluca supports clients across Europe in competition matters, including litigation cases, investigations by competition authorities and merger controls. He also regularly supports clients in the energy sector and other regulated industries in relation to regulatory and market design matters.

Gianluca holds an MSc in International Economics from the University of Milano-Bicocca. Prior to joining Oxera, he worked for two years in another economics consulting firm based in Ireland.

  • Regulatory advice to a toll motorway operator in Italy (2024–)

  • Regulatory advice to ESBN Ireland during the electricity distribution price control (PR6) process (2024)

  • Supported an Italian client in the automotive sector in assessing liability and damages in multiple litigation cases following alleged breaches of Article 101 TFEU (2023–24)

  • Supported a Romanian client in the mobile telecoms sector in engaging with the regulator and the European Commission, assessing dominance and regulatory obligations imposed on the local dominant firm (2023–24)
